7 NIGHTS – 8 DAYS
Day 01: Dehradun/Haridwar - Rishikesh
On the first day of the Adventurous Uttaranchal Tour, you are welcomed at the Dehradun/Haridwar airport or railway station by the tour operator. From here, you are transferred to Rishikesh which is 25 kms from the pilgrimage and the Holy City of Haridwar. The city of Rishikesh is also renowned for being at the foothills of the Himalayas and has a great cultural and historical heritage attached to it. At Rishikesh, you will check in and relax at an eco-friendly resort called the High Bank Himalayan Retreat. Later on you can enjoy a sightseeing trip of Rishikesh and visit the famous Laxman Jhoola. The Jhoola (swing) is so called as Lord Laxman had come to this place to do penance and blessed this place for a number of years. This Jhoola was famous for being a hanging bridge without any visible ropes to support it. There is an arrangement of bonfire and dinner in the night followed by overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Rishikesh Sightseeing and Adventures
The second day is full of adventure activities like an entire day of river rafting or one rafting trip and one Ayurvedic Massage or one wildlife safari to the Rajaji National Park. The Rajaji National Park is an amalgamation of three separate national parks which includes the wildlife sanctuary of Motichur, the green vegetations of Dehradun and the sanctuary of Pauri Garhwal and now constitutes an area of around 820 sq kms. Lunch is arranged on the River Camp. Besides this, one can enjoy exciting sports like kayaking, rapelling, trekking, jungle walks, rock climbing, dukkies and body surfing. In the evening the guests are treated to high tea and in the night they can enjoy campfire with a barbeque dinner.
Day 03: Rishikesh – Auli - 245 kms by road
You will travel to the Cliff Top Club at Auli on the third day. This club is an exclusive resort which is located at a height of 10000 sq feet. Its location and views make this a very special resort. This is the world’s second highest resort and enroute one can enjoy the scenic landscapes and the lovely sacred rivers like Ganga, Bhagirathi, Mandakini, Alaknanda, Pindar etc. You will reach Joshimath by evening, and experience the thrilling ropeway connecting Auli and Joshimath. It is at a height of 2100 meters from the sea level. In the evening enjoy the sunset over Nanda Devi which holds the second place for the highest mountain peak in India and the fourth place in the entire world. In the night you can make merry at the bonfire along with music and dinner. Overnight stay is at the resort.
Day 04: Auli
On the fourth day of the Adventurous Uttaranchal Tour, you will learn the basics of skiing on the slopes of Auli which is now an exclusive and one of the best skiing resorts in the Nation. Lunch is arranged at the resort and is followed by local guided treks to the Lake Valentine for a view of Helang Valley. Lake Valentine is a seasonally open area and people who want to enjoy the vicinity of this lake should not go there from September to April. The lake is also open for tourists and nature patrons from 8:00 in the morning to 8:00 in the evening. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset, bonfire and music in the evening. Overnight stay is arranged at the resort.
Day 05: Joshimath – Auli
You will leave in the morning with a packed mini-lunch for local sight-seeing of places in and around Joshimath. You will visit the Tapovan Temple which is located in a huge area and constitutes of a total of nine historical and beautiful temples. This is a mythological and historically enriched spot that no tourist should miss when he is on this tour. You can also see Hot Sulphur Water Springs which is a renowned place and has inspired the creation of various hot water spas in the neighboring hill station areas and resorts. You can also see the Shankaracharya cave which is so called because the phenomenal sage once came here for grave penance and was staying in the above mentioned cave. It is also known that the great guru wrote his famous Shankar Bhasya while he was a resident in this cave. Thus, this place is of great historical and mythological importance. You can also view the Narsimha Temple which is built in the memory of the Lord Vishnu’s avatar. Then you will take the ropeway to Auli which is a total length of 4.15 kilometers and is known for being one of the longest ropeways. In the evening enjoy the sunset, bonfire, music and dinner. Overnight stay is arranged at the resort
Day 06: Auli – Corbett (298 kms by road)
After breakfast, you will head towards the world famous Corbett National Park, the renowned tiger reserve via Ranikhet. In the evening, the guests can revel in bonfire and music along with dinner. You will be staying at the Corbett Suman Grand Resort for the night. This park is mainly famous for the animals such as the leopards, elephants, tigers, spotted deers, etc.
Day 07: Corbett
You can take an optional Jeep safari in the core areas of the reserve forest to view the reclusive tiger and exotic flora and fauna. You will take breakfast at the resort and later visit the Corbett falls followed by lunch. Rest of the day is free for leisure and the evening can be enjoyed with dinner, bonfire and music. Overnight stay is organized for the tourists at the resort.
Day 08: Corbett – Dehradun/Haridwar
After breakfast, you will make a return journey to Dehradun/Haridwar on the eighth day of the Adventurous Uttaranchal Tour. On reaching Dehradun/Haridwar, you will leave for onward destination either by rail for by a flight.
